Livorno is a working port on the Tuscan coast and your gateway to Renaissance Florence, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, walled Lucca and the vineyards of Chianti. Few guests stay in Livorno itself — the treasures are inland.

Ships dock in Livorno's commercial port. A port shuttle takes you to Piazza del Municipio / Piazza Grande in town.
Buses run from the pier to central Livorno (walking isn't permitted in the working port).
Livorno Centrale is a bus or taxi ride from town; trains reach Pisa in 15 minutes and Florence in about 1h20.
A port-to-Florence tour guarantees your return.
Several berths in the commercial port.

Steep approach and restricted routes
The museum group warns that the palace approach reaches a 20% gradient and recommends assistance. Garden approaches include dirt, gravel and slopes; this is a different access proposition from the Uffizi interior.
Planning suggestion: Choose one preconfirmed gallery with a suitable vehicle from Livorno, rather than combining multiple uphill palace and garden stops.
