Insider tips

  • 💵
US dollars work everywhere. The Bahamian dollar is pegged 1:1 — you may get change in either.
  • ⛴️
Water taxi to Paradise Island. Cheaper and more scenic than a cab; departs near the cruise port.
  • 🏝️
Atlantis day passes are pricey. Compare a beach-club pass if you just want sand and loungers.
  • 🐚
Shop the Straw Market wisely. Bargaining is expected; much is imported — look for local crafts.
  • 🚕
Taxi fares are per person. Agree the total price before you get in.

Port-specific access research

Mobility & accessibility in Nassau

Nassau’s port directs wheelchair assistance requests to the shipboard team. A beach-club visit has documented accessible features, but only for its specific facilities and eligible booked guests.

Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.

Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice

Nassau Cruise Port assistance

Request through your ship

The port’s FAQ says passengers needing wheelchairs should engage their shipboard team. Confirm assistance over the pier and equipment permitted ashore before relying on a port-side loan chair.

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island

Accessible ferries and pool lifts; cabana exceptions

Royal Caribbean lists wheelchair/scooter-friendly ferries, a lift at each pool and first-come beach chairs. It excludes VIP Party Decks, the Ultimate Family Cabana upper floor and certain beach cabanas from its designated accessible experiences. Confirm eligibility and admission separately.

A practical way to plan this port

Planning suggestion: If eligible, reserve the club and a confirmed suitable cabana or pool area; otherwise arrange an independently verified Nassau cultural route with suitable transport.

Confirm before booking
