Step by step

Getting ashore

Most ships dock at the Poniente (Western) docks, about 4 km from the cathedral. Smaller ships may berth closer at Paraires.

  1. 1
    Exit the terminal

Buses, taxis and shuttles wait outside.

  2. 2
    Get to the old town

EMT bus 1 or a short taxi takes you to the cathedral area.

  3. 3
    Or walk the seafront

A 45-minute promenade walk along the bay.

💡 Pro move: Rent a bike or walk the seafront promenade — it's flat, scenic and leads straight to the cathedral.

Port-specific access research

Mobility & accessibility in Palma de Mallorca

Palma's cathedral interior and its rooftop terraces have different access rules. Plan an interior-focused visit and bring or prearrange essential mobility equipment.

Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.

Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice

Mallorca Cathedral and MASM

Interior access; terraces excluded

The cathedral says its visiting areas and MASM are accessible for people with reduced mobility except the terraces. It does not provide loan wheelchairs; bring or arrange your own equipment.

Official access information ↗

Cathedral terraces

Excluded for visitors with reduced mobility

The cathedral's official FAQ restricts the terrace visit because of the route's physical demands, including for people with reduced mobility. Select the cathedral and MASM interior ticket rather than adding a rooftop tour that your party cannot complete.

A practical way to plan this port

Planning suggestion: arrange transport to the appropriate cathedral entrance and an interior-only visit. Bring or reserve your own chair, since the cathedral does not provide loan wheelchairs.

Confirm before booking

  • The current wheelchair entrance and any lift or platform dimensions needed for your device.
  • Cruise berth transfer and a step-free restaurant stop.
