Port-specific access research

Mobility & accessibility in Singapore

Gardens by the Bay publishes a significant restriction: its shuttle does not accept every powered wheelchair even though wheelchair services are offered on site.

Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.

Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice

Gardens by the Bay shuttle

Only selected folding wheelchairs accepted

The operator permits folding manual and lightweight folding electric chairs but excludes bulky, heavy or nonfolding devices. Published limits include 1.2 m length, 0.7 m width and 200 kg laden weight; staff assist boarding.

Wheelchair hire and route planning

Wheelchairs are offered at Arrival Gift Shop, The Canopy and Floral Fantasy. Their availability does not solve the movement of your own powered device; agree an accessible route from the booked vehicle drop-off to the chosen attractions.

A practical way to plan this port

Planning suggestion: For a nonfolding powerchair, plan a direct accessible transfer and a mapped garden route that does not depend on the shuttle.
