Stockholm is built on 14 islands, with a medieval old town, royal palaces, world-class museums and a spectacular archipelago approach. Be on deck as your ship winds through thousands of islands on the way in.

Ships dock at Frihamnen or Värtahamnen (north-east, shuttle or bus needed), or at Stadsgården (south, walkable to the old town). Some anchor and tender.
Stadsgården is a 20-minute walk to Gamla Stan; Frihamnen and Värtahamnen need a bus or shuttle.
Cobbled lanes, the Royal Palace and Stortorget square.
For the Vasa Museum, ABBA The Museum and Skansen.
Several quays; occasional tendering.

Gamla Stan's old town, the Vasa Museum and an archipelago of islands.
Vasa Museum provides lifts and facilities, but its preserved dock setting includes cobbled surfaces. Indoor access does not mean every floor surface is smooth.

Original cobbles remain
The museum's FAQ explains that part of the original dry-dock cobbling remains on the entry floor and may be difficult to roll over. Some areas allow a bypass; ask staff for that route.
Planning suggestion: Use an adapted transfer to Vasa and request the smoother museum route, with time for breaks instead of a full Djurgården walking circuit.
