Port-specific access research

Mobility & accessibility in Buenos Aires

Teatro Colón provides specific lift entrances, but a narrow lift door can be decisive for a powerchair. The grand front entrance itself has stairs.

Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.

Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice

Teatro Colón interior

Use the correct lift entrance

The theatre identifies lift entrances at Tucumán 1171 and Viamonte 1168, with a published 68-cm door width. Libertad 621 has 25 steps. Check your device width before booking an interior or performance.

Official access information ↗

Pasaje de los Carruajes and Golden Hall

Accessible passage and designated route

The theatre describes its carriage passage as accessible, with café, shop and toilets. The Golden Hall's accessible entrance uses Tucumán 1171 and its lift, distinct from the stair-based general entrance.

A practical way to plan this port

Planning suggestion: Arrange an adapted port transfer and a theatre visit only after confirming the 68-cm lift clearance and exact entrance.

Confirm before booking

  • Actual device width and lift suitability; whether a transfer would be required.
  • Accessible seating or guided-tour arrangements for the exact booking.
