Step by step

Getting ashore

Ships anchor in the bay and tender guests into Cabo San Lucas marina, right in the heart of town.

  1. 1
    Take the tender

A 10–15 minute ride lands you at the marina.

  2. 2
    Board a water taxi

Glass-bottom boats to El Arco and Lover's Beach leave from the marina.

  3. 3
    Explore downtown

Shops, restaurants and Medano Beach are walkable from the tender dock.

💡 Pro move: Tender into town early — afternoon tenders back to the ship get busy, and seas can get choppy.

Agree taxi fares. Cabo taxis are pricey; walk where you can.

Port-specific access research

Mobility & accessibility in Cabo San Lucas

Los Cabos has adapted beach equipment and selected accessible boats; this does not remove Cabo San Lucas' cruise water-shuttle constraints.

Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.

Getting ashore and reaching the sights

Carnival identifies Cabo San Lucas as a water-shuttle port. Shore-side access and your ship's tender acceptance must be confirmed separately. Port / arrival source ↗

Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice

Playa Chileno

Paved approach; beach wheelchair listed

Los Cabos' tourism board describes a paved walkway reaching the sand and a beach wheelchair at Playa Chileno. A paved approach does not mean a standard powerchair can cross soft sand or enter the sea; arrange the equipment and assistance first.

Official access information ↗

Dolphin Swim and Arch outing

Ambulatory access requires steps and transfer

Carnival's listing permits collapsible wheelchairs but requires steps, short walking and a seat transfer; it also says the catamaran lacks an accessible restroom. This particular water excursion is not suitable for someone who must remain in an occupied wheelchair.

Official access information ↗

A practical way to plan this port

Planning suggestion: consider an equipment-confirmed Chileno beach visit if tender and vehicle access are suitable; evaluate any Arch cruise by the named vessel.

Confirm before booking

  • Tender policy for your device and sea conditions.
  • Beach-chair reservation, transfer help and accessible changing/toilet arrangements.
