Corfu is a green Ionian island with a Venetian-era Old Town (UNESCO), two fortresses, an arcaded esplanade with cricket on the green, and coves of emerald water. Its history mixes Greek, Venetian, French and British influences.

Port-specific access research
Mobility & accessibility in Corfu
Corfu's Capodistrias Museum documents ramps and accessible toilets; the Old Fortress's uphill passages require a different assessment.
Published sources reviewed October 17, 2026. This is desk research, not an on-site access audit. Access can change with the ship, berth, equipment and operating conditions.
Attractions and excursions: what changes the choice
Capodistrias Museum
Ramps, nearby parking and adapted toilets
The museum identifies its permanent exhibition and surrounding area as accessible for reduced mobility, with ramps, parking close to the building and adapted toilets across from the entrance. It also publishes an autism visitor guide. The estate is outside town, so arrange suitable transport.
Corfu's municipal tourism description explicitly describes a narrow uphill walk through terraced passages to the rock's summit. Its statement that areas are 'accessible' refers to public opening, not a wheelchair certification. Do not equate the summit with a museum ramp route.
Planning suggestion: consider the ramp-served Capodistrias exhibition for a confirmed cultural visit and limit fortress sightseeing to an individually checked lower route.
